How Many Branches of Government Do We Have? Can You Name Them?

The Law Related Education Committee of the Palm Beach County Bar Association is featured this month on local Channel 20. Part of the Division of Public Affairs, Channel 20 disseminates Palm Beach County government information and educational programming to its subscribers in the County.

In a segment called “County Connection,” viewers are informed about the Palm Beach County Bar Association program that is “‘Raising the Bar’ on civics education for adults with a new presentation that is being shared countywide to help citizens better understand how our governmental system works.” The “Raising the Bar” presentations are spearheaded by the Law Related Education Committee, under the leadership of its 2013-14 Chair, Liz Herman. Leilani Yan, the host of County Connection, interviewed Liz about the program’s success and how to get involved. Palm Beach County Circuit Court Judge Rosemarie Scher and State Attorney Dave Aronberg were also interviewed about civics education and jury duty.

Herman Law, P.A. managing shareholder, Ron Herman is an active member of the Law Related Education Committee. Ron gave one of the “Raising the Bar” presentations to the Palm Beach Rotary Club during its weekly meeting at the Breakers Hotel. Ron’s presentation was very well received by the Rotary Club members, who raised a lot of great questions and engaged in an interesting discussion about the Florida and U.S. Constitutions. A clip from Ron’s presentation is featured in the County Connection program. “Raising the Bar” on “County Connection” began airing February 1, 2014 and can be seen on Channel 20 during the following times: Mondays at 6:00 p.m., Tuesdays and Thursdays at 9:00 a.m., Wednesdays at 10:00 a.m., Fridays at 2:00 p.m., and Saturdays at 3:30 p.m. Contact us to have the Committee present to your community group or organization!
